100 Marks Wines launches website, taking pre-orders on new wines

Another virtually winery in Niagara is getting close to releasing its inaugural wines.

504445264100 Marks Wines has made it official with the launch of its website with a pre-release of the first two wines beginning in May. You can also pre-order the wines on the website now.

100 Marks Wines is a virtual winery founded in 2010 by Kimberly and Jeff Hundertmark. Each vintage will focus on producing one red and one white wine.

This debut release consists of a 2011 White Merlot, and a 2010 Pinot Noir.

After two years of barrel tasting and tank sampling, Hundertmark says, these wines are finally ready for bottling and release to the public.

Hundertmark says: “I feel grateful to have been allowed the freedom to develop my own brand; while pursuing my career as the chief winemaker at Marynissen Estate Winery. The new 100 Marks wines are made under the Marynissen licence but we rent the space and equipment to make the wines. I have a great relationship not only with Marynissen but also with grape growers in Niagara who grow varietals that differ from the Marynissen portfolio allowing me to experiment.”

The price for the 2011 White is $19 per bottle ($228/case) and for the 2010 Red is $35 per bottle ($420/case). Cases can be mixed and also can be shipped anywhere in Ontario (shipping not included outside of Niagara).
