“The Grape Growers of Ontario thank the Members of Provincial Parliament for their continuing support as we celebrate the grape harvest and choose the official red and white VQA wines of the Legislative Assembly for the coming year,” said Matthias Oppenlaender, Chair. “We are also pleased to be working closely with the Government of Ontario on the renewed Grape and Wine Strategy which provides funding for key vineyard and winery investments as well as enhanced marketing for the province’s VQA wines.”

“The wines showcased at the wine tasting reflect the connection between 100% Ontario grown grapes and the winemakers who craft them. We thank all participating wineries,” said Debbie Zimmerman, CEO.

“We are very excited to have our 2013 Jack Rabbit Red selected as the official red wine of the Legislature for 2017. As a brand new Ontario winery, this is a very special honour that showcases our commitment to producing high quality wines made from 100% Ontario grown grapes. Thank you from our team at The Hare Wine Co. and we hope you enjoy!” said John Hare, Owner of Hare Wine Co.

“We are proud to have been recognized by the Legislative Assembly for our hard work and dedication to producing quality VQA wine,” said A.J. McLaughlin, V.P. of Sales and Marketing at Angel’s Gate Winery.
