Do you have any older vintage Niagara wines kicking around the cellar that you don’t know what to do with?
Wines In Niagara is your answer.
We are looking for those old treasures to share in a tasting some time in the future.
Wineries in Niagara have been remiss in keeping back old vintages of their bottlings from past vintages. Not surprising, as it is a new industry here and most wineries have to sell everything they make in order to pay the bills.
But many people buy up the wines and often they languish in cellars for years unnoticed. At Wines In Niagara we crave those older wines, especially Riesling, Icewine, Pinot Noir and red blends from great vintages.
We will pay a fair price for them.
Wines In Niagara hopes to host some sort of tasting of older vintage Niagara wines in the future.
Let us know if you have any you would like to part with.
If we donate a bottle, can we come to the tasting? ;-)
Would a 2002 Hillebrand Estates Glenlake Vineyard Showcase Cabernet Sauvignon be of interest?
That would be a gorgeous wine right about now.

When is the tasting ?
I have numerous Bordeaux reds from 1998, 1999, 2000 wines from Thomas and Vaughan
They are still very drinkable.
Rick,
Be in touch soon and make sure you get some of our aged Rieslings. Cheers!
Have lovely but slowly dwindling collection of Niagara reds late ’90s/early 2000s, including Marynissen, Thomas and Vaughn, Strewn. Have been lucky to taste on occasion over last couple of years and all holding up beautifully.
I have a 2000, 20001, and 2002 Trius red. Was thinking of opening them or the Burrowing Owl or Osoyoos Larose. Thoughts?
Susan, I would suggest drinking all of those Trius Red wines. The 2002 should be drinking really well. You will have to tell me how the the 2000 and 2001 are holding up. As for the Burrowing Owl, it’s a great winery and love those reds from the Okanagan. The Osoyoos Larose is puzzling to me. I have some in my cellar and open one from time to time but find them so oaky. I keep hoping they will come in balance. I hear the winemaker Pascal Marchand has left to join Donald Triggs at his Okanagan winery.
I have a 99 trius grand red, any chance someone knows if it’s worth anything?
