Ontario Wine Fair at cafe Taste announced

The following is the lineup for the third 2010 Ontario Wine Fair to be held at café Taste in Toronto on Saturday June 19.

In 2008, café Taste hosted the first true Ontario Wine Fair; a co-operative with local wineries where the smaller wineries could be represented and people could do a virtual tour of 20 Ontario wine and cheese makers under one roof.

The fair is one-stop tasting tour of local wines and cheeses.  This year there will be 20 wineries (several of the winemakers will be present) and 30 artesian cheeses from the exploding Ontario cheese industry – Last year there were 71 wines poured!

Represented will be wines and cheeses from Niagara and Prince Edward County, as well as cheeses from the rest of Ontario.

The Tasting is Saturday June 19, and will be divided into two tasting windows: Guests have the choice of tasting between 1-5 or 6-10.  The cost is $55 in advance, $65 at the door (all prices include tax).  Space is limited for this premium event.

Each guest gets to vote on their favourites for the People’s Choice Awards; the winners of which will become café Taste’s next by-the-glass program!

Norman Hardie, Lailey Vineyards, Calamus Wines, Fielding Estates, Southbrook, Kacaba Winery, Rosehall Run, The Grange of Prince Edward, Black Prince Winery, Legends Estates, Organized Crime, Chateau des Charmes, Rosewood Estates, Nyarai Cellars, Daniel Lenko, By Chadsay’s Cairns, Malivoire Winery, Hinterland, Pelee Island & Sandbanks Winery.
