The 23rd annual red carpet celebration of excellence in Ontario winemaking takes place Friday through Sunday, March 4th through 6th, 2011.  Tickets are now on sale to the public at $200 per person, including admission to the Cuvée Gala and all Cuvée en Route activities.

The Weekend experience begins on Friday, March 4th, when the Cuvée Gala takes place beside Niagara Falls at Fallsview Casino Resort, the event’s hosting sponsor.

During the evening the winners of the coveted Cuvée Awards will be announced, recognizing the excellence of individual Ontario wines. These award winners will be poured for guests to sample, along with some of Ontario’s best wines from the 61 participating wineries.

Another Gala highlight is the food offered by celebrated restaurants and food purveyors.  The participating chefs, to be announced soon, will delight food lovers with their live cooking stations throughout the Gala.

Weekend guests top off their experience by touring and tasting along Niagara’s wine route.  Friday through Sunday, Cuvée en Route passport holders are invited to visit wineries throughout Niagara for special themed tastings.

Andrea Kriluck, Event Chair and former Director of the Niagara Community Foundation, which presents the event, says: “Cuvée celebrates excellence in Ontario winemaking. This much-anticipated event draws hundreds of food and wine enthusiasts each year to sip, savour and enjoy.”

Proceeds from the weekend go to the Niagara Community Foundation.

Community foundations are one of the world’s fastest growing philanthropic movements, with more than 1,100 foundations in 42 countries.  The Niagara Community Foundation was founded in 2000 and grants income to local charities from an endowment fund worth more than $8 million.  To date the foundation has granted over $2 million.

Tickets are available at Cuvee or by calling 905-684-8688.  Cuvée en Route admission can be purchased separately for $30.00 per person, via the same outlets or at participating wineries on Cuvée Weekend.  Ticket and event information, details about each winery’s Cuvée en Route tastings, overnight accommodation packages, and announcements about participating wineries and chefs can all be found on the Cuvée web site.
