NOTE: Jackson Triggs winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake is hosting its 3rd Annual ROOTSTOCK 2011 To Benefit War Child. Here’s the release from the winery:

On Sunday August 28th, the 3rd annual ROOTSTOCK, hosted by CTV’s Canada AM co-host Seamus O’Regan, will take place at the Jackson Triggs Amphitheatre.

ROOTSTOCK is an evening of fine food, wine, music and storytelling — this year, with an East Coast flare — featuring Alan Doyle (Great Big Sea), John Mann (Spirit of the West), Kim Stockwood and Matthew Barber. This year’s concert (and auction) will benefit the humanitarian efforts of War Child.

THE AUCTIONS!

Fancy a signed Leonard Cohen limited edition print and photo? Maybe a guitar signed by all of the artists performing at this year’s ROOTSTOCK? Or a rare Icewine Collection from Inniskillin and Jackson Triggs cellars? All these and more were unveiled today as part of the exciting line up of silent auction items being presented for bids at ROOTSTOCK, in support of War Child, just over a week from now.

image004The pièce de résistance for wine lovers is the sole live auction item, a One-of-a-Kind Canada/US Wine Experience. The trip begins with a flight to the beautiful Okanagan Valley, to wine and dine at Jackson Triggs’ Okanagan Estate. The lucky bidder then flies to California’s Napa Valley to experience the hospitality of the Robert Mondavi Winery.  Flights (courtesy of Aeroplan), accommodation, and winery hospitality are all included. The trip is valued at $8,000!!

THREE PRE-CONCERT DINNER PERFORMERS … WHILE GUESTS SIP AND DINE!

For those who choose to explore their senses with a pre-concert wine and dine experience, three dynamic musicians will perform at food stations throughout the winery:

Terra Lightfoot — With a self-released EP and a busy summer promoting her debut across Canada and the US, Terra is sure to be a new discovery — and new favourite — for many dinner attendees.

Robyn Dell’Unto — Following on her debut record release “I’m Here Every Night” (Orange/ inDiscover), the future looks very bright for Robyn. Guests are sure to love her off-the-cuff lyrics and playful sparkle.

Barry Canning — Singer, songwriter, producer … Barry Canning is all that, and the consummate performer. Over the past few years, Barry has shared the stage with America, Great Big Sea, Our Lady Peace, Davis Usher, Colin James, and Crush to name a few.

There are two exciting ways to enjoy ROOTSTOCK:

• ROOTSTOCK Concert only;  $99.00 per person plus tax plus handling fee.
8:00 to 10:00 pm – Wine Bar available for purchase of wine by the glass featuring fine Jackson Triggs & Le Clos Jordanne wines; concession food available for purchase.
