Niagara Chefs Celebrate 25 Years of Cuvée with Delectable Dishes

Several of Niagara’s top chefs are sharpening their knives in preparation for the 25th anniversary celebration of Cuvée. In addition to celebrating fine Ontario wine, the Cuvée Gala, taking place on Friday, March 1st at the Fallsview Casino Resort, will shine the spotlight on Niagara’s hot culinary scene with chefs preparing culinary masterpieces at live cooking stations.

A cross section of talent representing some of Niagara’s finest dining establishments will be on hand, including:

•    Chef Frank Romano and Don Dyson, Inn on the Twenty

•    Chef Jason Dobbie, Zees Grill at Shaw Club Hotel

imagesThe chefs will present their creations that will pair well with the variety of VQA wines that have been specially selected for the Grand Tasting Gala by 40 Ontario winemakers representing wineries from Niagara, Prince Edward County, Pelee Island and Lake Erie’s North Shore.

From savoury bison and smoked venison to vegetarian options including vegan chicken and waffles and golden beet ravioli, the evening’s culinary options offer something sure to please foodies of every persuasion. Guests will also enjoy a selection of artisan cheeses from The Dairy Farmers of Canada and an assortment of gelato from Italian Ice Cream.

Proceeds from the Cuvée Wine Weekend go to the Niagara Community Foundation. Established in 2000, the Foundation has raised almost $20 million and granted over $4.8 million from its endowment fund created to support local charities working in the arts, heritage, environment, social services, health, education and community development.
