Chart-topping, multi-platinum selling singer Johnny Reid, above with winemaker Jeff Hundertmark, announced Tuesday his partnership with Stoney Ridge Estate Winery that sees the release of a premium VQA wine – the 2014 Johnny Reid Red Tartan.
Currently on his sold out What Love is All About Tour and playing in St. Catharines Tuesday night, Reid’s exclusive blend is now available for sale at Stoney Ridge Estate Winery, which is owned by television and radio personality Bob McCown.
Reid and his wife Jennifer collaborated with Stoney Ridge Winery to create this specific blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 17% Cabernet Franc. It’s aged in a blend of French and American barrels for a period of 14 months and underwent full 100% malolactic fermentation. The grapes were sourced at the Wiens Farm from Niagara-on-the-Lake.
“We loved learning about the wine culture in Canada and having the opportunity to create our custom blend and design with the Stoney Ridge team,” said Johnny Reid. “To release this wine during the tour is special because the people that have supported me from the beginning will now have the opportunity to enjoy a bottle of wine dedicated to them on behalf of myself, my wife, and our family. I hope they embrace this commemorative wine as a celebration of What Love is All About and share a glass of Red Tartan with those they love the most.”
